Aldon Smith Surrenders To Sfpd After Allegations Of Domestic Violence


San Francisco police searching for Aldon Smith after alleged domestic violence incidentThe former 49er and now ex-Raider lineback surrendered Tuesday, having been on the run since late Saturday, when he allegedly assaulted his fiancee at her Nob Hill apartment. The victim in the incident - believed to be Smith's fiancé - suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith is facing misdemeanor charges of willful infliction of corporal injury, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism, according to Sgt. Michael Andraychak. The following day, Smith was released by the Raiders, shortly after it was reported that he'd check himself into rehab.

A spokesman for the San Francisco County District Attorney's Office said Smith will be arraigned Monday.

I wish the best for Aldon. "Aldon called my parents and asked them to take him to rehab", she said. "I'm anxious for his safety", an insider told TMZ Sports. He was arrested in 2012 and 2013 on suspicion of DUI. "I cannot comment on the altercation but I can tell you I love him and so happy he turned to my family who considers him family and hopefully he gets the help he truly needs", she said. She reported to a police dispatcher about 8:30 p.m. that Smith was beating her at her residence in the 600 block of Bush Street. Smith played nine games for the Raiders in 2015 but was suspended for a year on November 17, 2015, and the National Football League has yet to reinstate him.
