Snapchat redesign petition actually gets a response


Complaints are inevitable when apps and sites are redesigned, but the response to Snapchat's recent overhaul has been as thunderous as any in recent memory.

"This doesn't help at all, in fact it makes me more mad", wrote one user in a comment on Snap's post.

Snapchat said it will soon roll out tabs in the app's Friends and Discover sections to make it easier for users to find Stories, which are photos and videos shared by users that disappear after 24 hours.

Thus, the redesign. Now we wait to see if Snapchat users, like Facebook users, are willing to get over the changes after making such a fuss. But on Wednesday, the company said it would issue a new update, while continuing to support some bits of the redesign.

In response to the petition, Snap Inc replied in part, "We completely understand the new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many".

The Snapchat redesign was also meant to compete more aggressively against the Instagram app by Facebook (FB) as well as Twitter. Over 1.2 million people have signed a petition on asking Snapchat to remove the redesign.

The two have also worked together - a year ago she teamed up with Snap to broadcast exclusive video as well as giving sneak peeks at her personal life.

In the official announcement, the developers confirmed that the new Gif stickers powered by Giphy will be added to the Sticker Picker option which is already found in the Snapchat user interface.
