Actor Jerry Van Dyke Dies at 86


Van Dyke went into show business, just like his brother.

His widow, Shirley, told TMZ that Van Dyke, 86, died at their Arkansas ranch with her by his side, and that his health had been deteriorating since a vehicle accident over two years ago.

With scores of TV and movie appearances, Van Dyke scored his greatest success with the long-running ABC comedy "Coach", playing assistant coach Luther Van Dam opposite series star Craig T. Nelson.

Longtime comedian and actor Jerry Van Dyke has died.

Jerry Van Dyke, the comedian brother of actor Dick Van Dyke, reportedly has died at the age of 86. He was also a regular performer on The Judy Garland Show before going on to star as Dave Crabtree in the short-lived My Mother the auto, which ran from 1965-1966.

Jerry's best known for his role on "Coach". where he earned 4 Emmy nominations playing Asst. He also played in Las Vegas, at Playboy Clubs, and on cruise ships in a stage show in the 60s. "This is as good as it's ever been'".
