Sports giants Nike displayed an advert on their official online store on Saturday evening urging fans to purchase their Coutinho jersey for the remainder of this campaign. "Get your 2017/18 Barcelona kit with the Magician's name on it".
Coutinho has always been linked with a move to Barcelona, and was the subject of three failed bids from the Catalan side in the summer.
Under a banner describing Barcelona as "Where the magic happens", the website posted a link to buying Barcelona shirts with Coutinho's name printed on the back, saying that the midfielder is "ready to light up Camp Nou".
It could be that an employee mistakenly used copy from the summer, when Barcelona and Nike were expecting Coutinho to sign for the Spanish side.
The page it linked to was, however, a dead link, and the text has quickly been removed.More news: Markle Bond girl role?
Kit manufacturers are not often involved in transfer announcements - aside from Pogba to Manchester United - and neither club has announced any deal for Coutinho yet.
"No, nobody told me that [I would have to sell Coutinho]", said Klopp on Friday. ' There is nothing to say.
'He showed his character in the games and in the training sessions.
"That is what I am interested in because all the rest I can't, and don't, want to talk about - because if I open the door then you run all the way through".
