The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 p.m.to 9 p.m., with 1 to 3 inches expected primarily in the southern half of the state, from Ocean County down to Cumberland and Cape May counties.

Light snow, with one the three inches forecast, will impact Friday's evening commute. The system was too moisture-starved in this area to produce much of anything, according to the weather service. Most of the snow will fall between midnight and 7 a.m. Saturday. The latest road conditions for interstate travel can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. "Take it slowly during the evening commute home and allow for extra travel time".

We'll get a respite from the cold this weekend into early next week.
