What is the Invisible Box Challenge... and how to do it?

Her "invisible box" trick set the internet on fire and now our favourite viral cheerleader has returned with a second act in her incredible magic show.

Ariel Olivar recorded the stunt on the sidelines of a playoff game between the Manvel Mavericks and Cedar Park Timberwolves Friday night.

Ariel Olivar from Manvel High School in Texas posted a video on Twitter of her performing a lovely "invisible box" trick, appearing to levitate as she steps over the non-existent box.

Just like planking, the invisible box challenge has taken on a life of its own. An Anderson University football player posted a video of it in August, and it's just as flawless.

'The video was my third time trying it.

"I had no idea it would ever get this big", Ariel said.

To do the trick, people have to step onto the "box" with one foot, and swing the other over it. Here's how it works: You bend over to pat an invisible box, pretend to step on said box, and hop over it with your other leg. Sounds simple enough, right?

"Very explosive hip flexor, abdominal and glute strength is what is driving the leg up and over the box".

The premise of the challenge is to "step" onto the "box" with one foot then "step" over it with the other, creating the illusion of a solid object.

Men's Health fitness editor Ebenezer Samuel broke the move down, explaining: "All [the] hip stabilisers on the right side are firing on overtime to hold that hip in position".

If you thought walking on air wasn't humanly possible, the latest fad to sweep the internet will make you think otherwise.
