Trump defends Moore against charges

Moore has denied all wrongdoing.

Taylor, a former navy Seal, said he did not "feel comfortable" with Moore's response to the sexual misconduct allegations against him, which include the claim that he initiated a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl in 1979, when he was 32.

A retired Gasdsen, Ala. law enforcement officer says she and her fellow officers were told to keep Republican Senate Candidate Roy Moore away from the high school cheerleading team because it was known that Moore preferred young girls.

Moore has denied most of the allegations, and has so far resisted calls from dozens of GOP lawmakers and officials to withdraw from the Alabama Senate race. "And I do have to say: 40 years is a long time. Me personally, I don't think it was sufficient enough".

To the editor: Moore is a major headache for Republicans but one readily cured: Get him out of the Senate race by finding a government post for him elsewhere. Trump asked several White House aides, according to the Times.

The Republican National Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee are both pulling their support for Mr Moore's campaign ahead of the December 12 special election that he is running for. Since then, other women have come forward.

Is it simpler to believe that, while the victims of Louis C.K., Al Franken and Charlie Rose's unwanted advances are telling the truth, Moore's accusers are all liars, operatives in a bipartisan plot by two parties who can't even work together on health care or tax reform?

The congressman added: "I think you have to listen to the women". "If you are a conservative and love Judge Moore, you know these allegations are a political farce".

Mr Trump added that he is "very happy" that women are speaking out about their experiences - a reference to the number of sexual assault accusations made recently against figures in the U.S. media and politics.

Taylor represents Virginia's second congressional district, a competitive seat in a state that saw Democratic successes in elections this month.
