As many begin to venture out for holiday shopping, the United States Small Business Administrations urges shoppers to support local businesses on Small Business Saturday this weekend.
Small Business Saturday in November 25th and Downtown Holland businesses will be offering plenty.
On the heels of today's Black Friday, shopping small is a concrete way to support small retailers - the same businesses that generate two of every three net new jobs, and deliver essential goods and services to our communities 365 days a year. About 75 percent of shoppers expect to patronize a small business during the holiday season, according to a recent study by the National Federation of Independent Businesses and American Express. Savannah Mayor Eddie Deloach and other city officials gathering to ask everyone to support a small, local business this holiday season.
"Chances are, that the small businesses you are patronizing are owned by someone who lives in your community, as are the employees in that store", Lane said.
Port City Daily has compiled a few of the many stores offering special deals for Small Business Saturday.

"They have already experienced the big town and just chose to raise their family back home", Venable said. "We have small businesses that don't have that type of funding to hit you with ads explaining that they have these products, too, or if we don't, we can get it for you". The first shopper to return their passport to the Shawnee Chamber office, 15100 W 67th St, at 8 a.m. on Monday with at least five stamps will receive a $50 gift card.
