Star Wars Battlefront 2 Live-Action Trailer is incredible

If you've been curious to know more about the game's Imperial protagonist Iden Versio, then these first two missions should give you a good idea of her demeanor and personality.

This was a title that stood to be one of the year's biggest (and potentially its best), with EA and DICE promising an exciting new single-player campaign, and an expanded multiplayer component with more characters, more maps, and, ultimately, more fan service.

The post continues in an attempt to justify the cost of characters; Luke and Vader cost 60,000 Credits each.

The above response from EA's Star Wars Battlefront 2 community management team now sits at 440,000+ downvotes, well and above the most disavowed, disagreed-upon comment in Reddit history. This means that Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now cost 15,000 credits instead of 60,000; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia will cost 10,000; and finally, Iden will cost 5,000. However, by having to spend an inexplicable amount of time grinding to earn enough credits to buy them, in its current state EA has ensured that the majority of players won't actually be able to put in the time or throw up the cash to unlock every hero. "It's clear that more changes were needed", he writes.

Another player questioned why EA would lock Skywalker and Vader in a Star Wars game, presumably referring to their commonplace presence in the franchise. EA and DICE have come under constant fire since the EA/Origin Access trial began for Battlefront II's pay-to-win loot crates, it's convoluted progression system, and the fact that six of the fourteen heroes are locked behind a paywall.

There's also the dust-up around the loot boxes and unlock economy to address, and we'll be seeing how quickly EA and DICE address this feedback (Edit: The feedback was addressed very quickly). One Reddit user responded by saying: "Locking iconic characters behind credit walls that will take dozens of hours to get one is just insane, especially when I am willing to bet you have tons of heroes planned which will be behind similar paywalls?" Listening, and providing choices in how you play, will always be our principle with Star Wars Battlefront II. Many players had already preordered the game at full price before hearing that unlocking characters like Darth Vader would require roughly 40 hours of matches. "And we are engaged in that conversation, engaging with our players on a daily basis as we think about that".

Following the backlash for Battlefront II, some EA developers have received personal attacks and death threats, according to CNBC.
