Chevrolet unveils latest Corvette ZR1 with a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine

The first was the third-generation C3 Corvette, which offered a ZR1 package that included a hotter engine, a performance suspension, revised transmission, and upgraded brakes.

There will be no mistaking a ZR1 from the other high performance Corvette variant. This powertrain makes this model the most powerful model in Corvette history.

After months of teases and anticipation, Chevrolet finally revealed the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar on Sunday, Nov. 12 in Dubai.

Chevrolet has lifted the lid on its all-new ZR1, a name associated with a super muscle vehicle for more than 48 years. The price is yet to be announced, but if you must ask, you probably can not afford it. Count on spending six figures, though, and that's before dealers add markup. Meanwhile, the High Wing comes with summer-only Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and a different front splitter, to go with its 950 pounds of downforce at top speed.

For example, the new ZR1 has a redesigned front end with huge air intakes to feed four new radiators, which brings the total heat exchanger count to 13, according to Chevrolet.

Chevrolet isn't talking about pricing for the 2019 Corvette ZR1 at this stage, but the expectation is that, compared to its exotica rivals, this all-American hero will be practically a bargain.

Chevy fitted the Corvette's 6.2-liter V-8 with a new LT5 supercharger, which gives the ZR1 a power output of 755 horsepower and a 210-mph top speed.

Another quick giveaway is the ZR1's carbon fiber hood that features that helps cover an engine three inches taller than what's powering the Z06.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1's front end is created to channel maximum air for propulsion-system and drivetrain cooling. Both wings are tied to the ZR1 chassis, much like the C7.R race auto, to ensure maximum stability.

And if you're still not sure your new Vette will stand out enough, "The Corvette ZR1 introduced today also debuted a dynamic, available Sebring Orange Design Package", Chevy noted. The driver-focused, well-appointed cockpit includes standard leather-trimmed seats, with sueded microfiber inserts offered. Other add-ons available to buyers include a carbon-fibre-rimmed steering wheel, competition sport seats, a performance data recorder and a Bose premium audio system.

It's good to be the King.
