Hakuna Matata It Up! Beyoncé Joins Live-Action 'Lion King' as Nala

Queen Bey will be joined by Donald Glover who is set to play Simba, while James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Mufasa.

Well, get ready to go through it all over again, after Disney announced the full cast roster for the upcoming live-action remake. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Because, it turns out, the rumors are true: Beyoncé Knowles is joining the Disney remake in the role of Nala.

"It's not called the lion king anymore", Twitter user Ziwe wrote.

After much speculation, the singer's casting was confirmed on her Facebook page.

Desperate Housewives star Alfre Woodward will voice Simba's mother and Mufasa's wife Sarabi.

While it's dope that Seth Rogen is playing Pumbaa, we can't help but feel Rag'n'Bone Man should have at least auditioned for the role, after this. But now, the word is finally out and none other than BEYONCÉ will play Simba's bestie and wife, Nala.

How is the Lion King being remade?

With no human characters in the film, it isn't yet clear how, if it all, Disney will create a "live-action" update.

As suspicious as one might be about a "live-action" reenactment of the Oscar-nominated animated film, this cast promises Disney's full support for Favreau and team.
