When Facebook, Instagram went down, people didn't know what to do

The outage affected users across the world, including Japan, Brazil, India, the majority of Europe and the United States. Well, that's what happened to a lot of people from several corners of the world.

Facebook has confirmed it experienced a widespread outage impacting users' ability to access the social network and Instagram across the USA and parts of Europe on Wednesday.

Facebook and Instagram experienced a global outage on Wednesday. There was a problem with entrance to accounts in a similar way on Facebook.

A number of users reported that the social network was back up after 1 p.m. ET. "Thanks for your patience".

Singing in the same tune is Down Detector (Facebook, Instagram), who also reports that complaints started flooding in around the same time.

"We're sorry for the inconvenience", a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.

Later on, the California-based network said that they are aware people have problems accessing Facebook and Instagram.

"Facebook Outage: America Resorts to Old-Fashioned Stalking", one wag commented.
