The Rebels outscored the Tigers 20-9 in the final two quarters. The sophomore finished the day having completed 14 of 21 passes for 234 yards with two touchdowns. The one negative on the game, if one could call it that, was that the defense allowed more than 14 points for the first time all season. Daniel Carlson was ideal on field goals for the afternoon, providing all of Auburn's second half scoring. With five home games to play, Ole Miss has plenty of opportunities to turn the season around. "When you're on the field you have to play Auburn defense".

The passing game produced some big results Saturday, as quarterback Shea Patterson connected on 34 of 51 passes for 346 yards and 2 scores and no interceptions. I think we feel a lot better than we did last week coming out of the second half.

"The second half was just putting the game away, and we got a chance to play some young guys", Malzahn said.

Ole Miss boasts one of the best receiving corps in the SEC, and they showed it Saturday. Aidan Marshall averaged 41 yards per punt and the coverage team did not allow Ole Miss to return a punt.

Fans will have to go back almost seven years to find a better three-game stretch at Auburn as the 2010 Tigers squad scored 51, 62 and 49 against Ole Miss, Chattanooga and Georgia, respectively.

Carlson followed with his historic field goal to boost the margin to 27.
